About this page......

What is Rokumentai?: In Japanese, the cubic, which has six square faces, are called "Rippohtai". "Roku-men-tai" means a six-faced-cubic in general, but is used only for Rubik's cube.

My cubing history: More than 20 years ago, I won the fifth in the first national tournament in Japan, and the forth in the second tournament. At the first tournament, my method was very primitive (average about 50 sec?), then I developed my original corner-first method after that. Finally, I did about 27-28 sec. My method is not same as the others shown in the various web sites. So, I decided to have this homepage. I also developed solving method for Revenge, based on my 3x3x3 method. My original method is not the best for speedcubing, but it may be one of the best solution for Revenge.

Cubing again: I have never touched Rubik's cube for two or three years around 1997-2000. Since I heard the 2nd world championship might be held, I decided to do cubing again. I was really surprised that there are so many web sites about Rubik's cube and there are a lot of people still intersted in it. Now I also playing a lot!

Finally, WC!!: Finally, WC2003 was held in Aug 2003 at Toronto, Canada. The meeting was so exciting. It seems like a meeting with old friends. We knew eveybody eventhough we have never met together. We get together for one purpose. Cubing.

I won the championship for 4x4 and 5x5: I was very lucky to get the double championship for 4x4 and 5x5, and the 13th for 3x3. I expected that I might be able to get double championship because I had unofficial world records. However, I realized that WC was real competion. David Wesley became really fast and finished 2nd in both categories. He also get fastest time for 5x5. I was vey lucky to win both.

I used several freeware to develop this web site. Thanks for such nice freewares.
